Friends of the Bay County Library System
The Friends of the Bay County Libraries is a volunteer organization that raises money and helps with the enhancement of library operations. Membership is comprised of people from throughout Bay County who are passionate about their libraries. The Friends are governed by a Board of Directors, who are elected annually. The current President is John Van Looy, who can be reached at (989) 892-9726. If you are interested in joining, registration envelopes are available at any of the library branches. You may also print out this form, fill it out and mail it, along with a check, to our administrative office at the Alice & Jack Wirt Public Library, 500 Center Avenue, Bay City, MI 48708.
Donations for the Friends of the Bay County Libraries book sale are welcome.
Please bring clean, undamaged book and AV materials to any BCLS branch library during regular operating hours. If you have a large donation, please take those to Southside Branch Library at 311 Lafayette Avenue in Bay City on FRIDAYS from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.
The Friends accept books, DVD’s, music CD’s, books on CD, and record albums. Old textbooks, Reader’s Digest Condensed books, magazines, VHS or other cassette media, and encyclopedia sets are not accepted. The Friends do not accept items that are in poor physical condition, moldy, insect infected, or with offensive odor.
