Copper Miners:  Trials and Tribulations in 1913 in Michigan’s Copper Country

Presented by Donna Simons, author of Copper Empire.  Learn about the 1913 copper mining labor strike in the Upper Peninsula and how it led to a tragedy on Christmas Eve.  The Dangers of working in a copper mine, the nine-month labor strike, strike outcome and how the strike led to a tragedy that forever changed the Copper Country will be discussed.
