Literature is one way to explore difficult issues, such as racism and inequality. In response to many patron requests for books that deal with these important topics, we launched our Read Woke Reading Challenge online!

There are 10 categories in the challenge, and we’ve compiled lists of recommended reading from various sources to help you find a book for readers of all ages. Simply check off that you’ve read a book from each category and you’ll have completed the challenge! There are no deadlines or prizes.
